JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A registered sex offender was arrested in Jackson County after deputies found out he had moved from his registered address in Marianna to the Cottondale area.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office said that they began an investigation into Jason Porter after they got a report that he had moved from his registered home without reporting a change of address.

Deputies got a warrant for his arrest on Friday. Days later, Porter was arrested at his job.

The 42-year-old was transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to wait for his first appearance in court.

Porter was charged with failure of a sex offender to properly register residency and failure of a sex offender to properly register address with driver's license office.
