TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The shooting at Hot Yoga Tallahassee has brought our community together supporting each other in many different ways.
On Wednesday, a local exercise studio is holding a fundraiser to benefit the yoga instructors affected by the tragedy.
Brittany Barbosa, a Pilates and Barre Instructor, said there have been a lot of fundraisers for the shooting victims' families, which Refinery is supporting, but nothing for the instructors at the hot yoga studio, many of whom are traumatized and out of a job.
So from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wenesday, Brittany is teaching a Barre Original Class and all of the proceeds go to Hot Yoga Tallahassee.
Brittany said what happened there could have happened anywhere to anyone.
"We need to come together at this time and realize that we can't stop doing what we love just because something as tragic as this happened," said Brittany.
You can sign up for Wednesday's class online at the Refinery Barre Fitness Facebook page or through their mobile app, but make sure you sign up as soon as possible to secure a spot.
There will be donation boxes in the Refinery lobby for the next week if you would like to support Hot Yoga Tallahassee and its teachers.
