(WTXL) - Thousands of dead fish have littered the beaches of southwest florida.

Now there's concern the red tide that's to blame could be moving farther north.

Dead fish, turtles, manatees ... all kinds of marine life suffering deadly consequences as blooms of red tide spread across the Sarasota coastline.

Now people in Pinellas County are wondering if they're next.

"I get probably between five to ten emails a day and probably closer to 20 phone calls a day asking about red tide and if red tide is affecting our area," said fisherman Dylan Hubbard.

FWC has already found traces of red tide in Pinellas County, not enough for a bloom but that could change if concentration levels get any higher.
