TALLAHASSEE, FLA. (WTXL) - An early morning crash leaves a racer seriously injured.
Around 8:15 am this morning, deputies with the Leon County Sheriff's Office responded to a crash near the intersection of Thomasville Road and Kerry Forrest Parkway involving a vehicle and a red hills triathlon participant.
According to reports, a driver was going Southbound on Thomasville Road, when she turned west onto Kerry Forrest Parkway entering the path of 30 year old racing cyclist Mike Curtin.
Curtin's injuries consist of several broken bones, numerous lacerations, and internal injuries. Curtin was participating in the annual Red Hills Triathlon at the Alfred B. Maclay State park. An investigation is on-going and charges are pending.
