TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - For two decades, Tallahassee has been home to an equestrian delight.

The 2018 Red Hills International Horse Trials galloped into the city for its 20th anniversary event.

It featured new trial routes, plenty of vendors, as well as several loyal sponsors. Sunday, the Leon County Sheriff's Office presented the ceremonial showing of colors, followed by a parade of the Live Oak Hounds. The Live Oak Hounds were invited to the very first horse trials, and they are happy to keep the tradition alive.

"We love coming here, it's a wonderful thing, it's a very happy weekend," said Marty Wood, Live Oak Master of Fox Hounds. "And it's a chance for everybody in the Tallahassee area, not just Tallahassee, but Thomasville and Bainbridge, all of the surrounding areas to come and see some of the best horses in the world."

The milestone horsing event displayed several levels of rider expertise. Riders and their beasts of beauty participated in preliminary, intermediate, and advanced competitions. Announcers called for award winners between rounds.

The event featured international Olympic riders for dressage, cross country, and show jumping.
