TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Historic flooding across the Carolinas has left thousands without water and power. In South Carolina, some areas were inundated with more than two feet of rain over just three days.

“The magnitude of the devastation spanning the state of South Carolina is something that we have never experienced before,” said Louise Welch Williams, the chief executive officer of the Red Cross of the Palmetto South Carolina Region. “Volunteers, staff and partners are all working around the clock to ensure that every family in South Carolina has a warm, dry place to sleep.”

To help those in need, the Red Cross is asking for donations. You can help by donating to Red Cross Disaster Relief by visiting redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
