Tallahassee, FL (WTXL) --  Weddings and extravagant parties are fun, but they can be expensive and not very environmentally friendly. Sustainable Tallahassee is bringing the first recycled wedding and events market to town.

If you're planning a wedding or party, this one-stop shop will save you time and money. The best part is it's all recycled.

It's a marketplace where someone who just hosted an event can sell their gently used items, such as linens, vases, decorations to party planners. It is helping everyone involved reduce their carbon footprint.

The owner of Green Party Events, Jodi Wilkof, was inspired to bring this to the community knowing a 100-person party produces around 400 pounds of waste. Wilkof tells us, "We have been pretty much overwhelmed with the response that we have gotten. It has been fantastic. People are so excited about this event. The usual comments we hear is why haven't we done this before."

Professional event vendors will have tables set up, saving you stress and time. The event is February 25th at The Aveda Institute from 11:00 to 3:00. Early bird tickets are sold out already, but you can purchase tickets now or at the event. All entrance proceeds go to Sustainable Tallahassee to continue reducing Tallahassee's carbon footprint.
