TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Temps are slow to warm this afternoon, only expected to get into the mid 40s. The current cold record high for this date was set back in 1910 with a high of 46° achieved. We'll come close to breaking this 100+ year old record today.

Overnight, hard freezes warnings are issued once again. Make sure to monitor the 4P's again: People, pets, plants and even those pipes. Have your faucets set at a steady drip. Cold shelters are open in Tallahassee and Valdosta if you need a warm place to go.

Temps will plummet and the record low for Friday morning will be shattered. The current record is 27° set back in 1993. Expect actual air temps to get to the low 20s by tomorrow morning.

The weekend looks more pleasant with highs in the 60s and even some 70s are expected!
