ECHOLS COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL)--A Quincy woman is dead after crossing the centerline in Echols County, Georgia and hitting a tractor-trailer head-on.
Georgia State Patrol troopers say it happened at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday.
They say 48-year-old Lavelle Wade was headed south in a Toyota Camry on U.S. 129 and hit the truck, driven by 46-year-old Morris Singleton. It happened just two miles south of Statenville.
Singleton is from Eastman, Georgia and had an injury to his leg. Troopers say Wade was wearing a seat belt, but the shoulder strap was behind her back. A toxicology report is pending. They're not sure why she crossed into the other lane.
