Quincy Police Investigating String of Burglaries

QUINCY, Fla. (WTXL) - A string of related burglaries in Quincy is likely to have been committed by suspended kids, according to Assistant Police Chief Glenn Sapp.

Sapp told WTXL ABC27, he thinks the word gang is too strong to describe the activity, but he does think the burglaries are related to suspended students who are no longer in school. He says the burglaries haven't been a very organized effort, and that's why they believe young kids could be responsible.

Meanwhile, Sapp says the Quincy Police Department has a plan to fix the situation.

"Really keep your eyes open, and if you see someone in the neighborhood that is unfamiliar or they appear to be casing the neighborhood, please please give us a call at the Quincy police department and we'll come right out," said Sapp. "We really need the community to say something if they see something suspicious."

Residents can contact the Quincy Police Department at (850) 627-7111 if they have any information regarding these crimes.
