TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Quincy man and a 15-year-old male have been arrested in connection to armed robberies at a Waffle House and Dunkin Donuts in Tallahassee.
Ty'Shaun Pope Jr., 20, faces two counts of robbery with a firearm and remained in the Leon County Detention Center with no bond allowed on Thursday.
Pope's arrest came after a 15-year-old male told a Leon County Sheriff's Office investigator that he had been with Pope for robberies at Waffle House (1670 Capital Circle NW) on June 27, 2018, and at Dunkin Donuts (1594 Capital Circle NW) on July 7, 2018, according to a probable cause affidavit.
The teen, who was arrested for two counts of armed robbery, told the investigator that Pope forced him to assist with both robberies. The teen said that Pope was driving a silver sedan, had a handgun during the robberies and gave him shirts to conceal his face.
Searching a car believed to be used in the robberies, the LCSO investigator found a shirt that appeared to be one the teen had used as a mask during the Dunkin Donuts robbery and a cash drawer receipt from Circle K at 5712 W. Tennessee St.
The Circle K receipt was not the kind given to customers for their purchases but was one to be placed in a cash deposit bag. The receipt showed July 8, 2018, at 0433 hours. That time, the investigator wrote, was 21 minutes before a robbery at the Circle K at 5712 W. Tennessee St.
In the Circle K robbery, the lone suspect appeared to be the same older person who had robbed the Dunkin Donuts and Waffle House as well as the Sleep Inn and Midway Waffle House, court documents said.
Documents say Pope appeared to match the suspect in a robbery that the Midway Police Department responded to at a Waffle House (2380 E. Brickyard Rd.) on July 5, 2018, the investigator wrote.
At that robbery, as in other recent ones, the suspect was armed with a silver handgun and drove a silver Nissan Altima.
Pope was arrested Tuesday.
