QUINCY, Fla. -- A man that reportedly entered the home of an 11-year-old girl and asked her for sex is now facing charges, according to the Quincy Police Department.
The incident happened Monday afternoon. Hiram A. Beamon, 39, reportedly knocked on the back door of the home belonging to the victim's grandmother. The victim thought Beamon was someone else and opened the door. Police say that when Beamon learned there were no adults in the house, he forced his way inside. He then allegedly asked the victim to perform sexual favors in exchange for money.
The victim was able to escape by running out of her grandmother's house to a nearby aunt's house.
The victim's aunt told police that as the victim, who was screaming, ran to her house, she could see Beamon fleeing to a nearby graveyard.
Police say the victim was unharmed, and Beamon was arrested. He is a documented sex offender and has been convicted twice for lewd and lascivious battery on a minor.
Beamon is charged with burglary and lewdness. He was taken to the Gadsden County Jail.
