VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL)--A Quality Inn Employee and his accomplice are arrested for their involvement in a theft, according to the Valdosta Police Department.

Around 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, Officers were called to the Quality Inn on Gornto Road about a possible robbery.

The night clerk left the front desk to check the pool area, when a man dressed in dark clothing with a hoodie went up to the clerk and told him to get on the ground.

Police say the suspect had some type of stun gun, went inside the motel office behind the counter, took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash drawer, and left the area.

The clerk wasn't hurt but believes he was shocked by the stun gun before the suspect went into the office and took the money.  An alert employee from a nearby business saw two men running by his business taking off clothes.

Officers searching the area found the two men at the Rodeway Inn sitting on a curb. The men were identified as being involved in the Quality Inn theft and were arrested.

They are 22-year-old Tevin Fitchett and 19-year-old Shamari Pigford.

Police say Fitchett was an employee of the Quality Inn and is the person who confronted the clerk and took the money.
