NORTH PORT, FL (WWSB) —A Punta Gorda man was arrested after passing out in a vehicle while a child was in the backseat, according to the North Port Police Department.
Hassan Youssef, 34, was arrested Friday for child neglect without great bodily harm and has a $10,000 bond.
Officers found Youssef asleep in a vehicle with a lit cigarette in his mouth around 6:30 p.m., at the Adelaide Avenue and Alametos Terrace intersection
The driver’s window was rolled down and all the other windows were rolled up, with a child in the back seat.
Youssef allegedly fell asleep when officers were giving him a sobriety test.
Officials found a plastic baggie with a white pill in the front door pocket, which later tested positive for dilauded, states the report. There was also a spoon with white residue in the vehicle.
Youssef’s wife was unable to be located. The child was placed in protective custody service.
