TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The City of Tallahassee says construction is underway on a new waterline for Pullen Road residents.

Back in July, we first showed you the water that resident's were complaining about. They said for months at their homes, the water was often discolored with floating particles and unpleasant smells. But the project was stalled while the city was waiting for all of the property owners to consent to the construction.

Jennifer Porter, the Program Engineer for the City of Tallahassee confirmed to WTXL ABC27 today that the waterline's $35,000 construction has begun.

"In order to do any construction at all, we had to get permission to do construction on the site," said Porter, "so I'm happy to report that we did get all the easements that we needed, and we are in the middle of construction right now in order to build a brand new water main."

The city tells us the water line should be complete in a week or two.
