TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Beginning next week, there will be traffic impacts on Gaines Street due to construction related to the new Publix being built.

From Monday June 25, until Sunday, July 1, the eastbound lane of Gaines Street from Railroad Avenue to Woodward Avenue will be closed.

The westbound lane will remain open during this time and detour signs will be posted.

Starting on Monday, July 2, until Thursday, July 5, the eastbound lane of Gaines Street from Railroad Avenue to Woodward will be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Starting on Friday, July 6, and lasting through Sunday, July 8, there will be a full road closure (both east and west bound lanes closed) on Gaines Street in front of the site of the new Publix, which is located between Gay Street and Railroad Avenue.

The City of Tallahassee says during the road closures, access to area businesses and residences will be maintained at all times.
