TALLAHASSEE, Fla., (WTXL) - A republican lawmaker proposed a bill Thursday that would lead to a 24 hour waiting period before women could receive abortions.
Senator Anitere Flores from Miami hopes to make this bill part of state law.
It would be added to the law the currently requires physicians to inform women about issues like potential risks of abortions and the gestational ages of fetuses.
The bill would also require physicians to be in the same room with the women when the information is provided.
In 2012, the House approved a similar measure but it failed to pass in the Senate.
It will be considered in the legislative session starting March 3rd.
