Proposal for parents' dress code shot down

Posted

West Palm Beach, Fla. (WTXL) -- The proposal to create a dress code for parents has been stopped by the school board in Palm Beach County.

It all started when one board member suggested that parents attending school functions should have to follow a dress code, much like their children do at school.

However, the topic was only debated for 12 minutes on Wednesday before it was squashed.

Part of the reason it was shot down was because school board members feel as though parents' participation should be encouraged by the schools regardless of their attire.

While no vote was taken, the proposal appeared unlikely to be revisited.
