NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Just days before his death, Prince tweeted a picture of a purple Yamaha piano that was custom-made for him. Now executives at Yamaha are revealing the behind-the-scenes work that went into the special instrument.
The piano was set to be a centerpiece on his Piano and a Microphone tour, and had just been delivered to his home at Paisley Park in Minnesota a few weeks ago.
Chris Gero, VP of Yamaha Entertainment Group, based in Franklin, Tennessee, said Friday that the company only had about three months to finish the instrument.
The piano was fine-tuned to Prince's specifications and the color was matched to a purple couch in the artist's Minneapolis, Minnesota, home.
The 57-year old Prince was found dead Thursday at his house, with the cause not yet known.
