WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTXL) - President Trump says that he and Congress have reached a deal to reopen the government.

Trump says that he will sign a stopgap bill to temporarily reopen the government until Feb. 15.

Reopening the government would mean furloughed federal workers who missed their second paycheck Friday will be given back pay.

The bill doesn't include any provisions for money for the proposed wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Government shutdown: Trump to speak from White House

The White House is preparing now to go live on television with a news conference in which President Trump will speak.

Press Secretary Sarah Sanders says it is set for 1:30 p.m. Eastern in the Rose Garden.

It is likely the President will offer a new proposal or some sort of means to ending the ongoing government shutdown, now in Day 35. Today is the second time federal works affected by the shutdown did not receive paychecks.

This is a developing story and will be updated. We will be streaming this announcement on Facebook at 1:30 p.m.
