TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Christmas has come and gone and your teens probably received a lot of neat new gadgets, but we have expert advice on how your teen can be more productive this season.
Family Therapist Jane Marks said that this is the time to spend with your family and learn new things like how to cook, or if your old enough to start thinking about colleges.
Marks also said that its the time of year to reinvent oneself and it is a wonderful reset point for teens.
Parents can help get their teens more active by talking to to them, exercising, and making new routines.
"And parents most of all can just love their teens," said Marks. "I think so many times we don't have time to stop and say you are the world to me, this is what life is all about and so it's just a good time for parents and teens to make sure that they focus on what's ahead for the year."
Another important tip to keep in mind is making sure your teen is catching up on sleep and resting well.
