(WTXL) - Former first lady Michelle Obama was voted America's most admired woman for 2018, according to a new Gallup poll released Thursday.

Michelle has ended Hillary Clinton's 17-year run as the most admired woman in America. Oprah Winfrey took second with Clinton and First Lady Melania Trump taking third and fourth respectively.

Since 1946, Gallup's annual survey has asked Americans to name a man and woman (not restricted to the U.S.) they admire most. According to Gallup, 15 percent of Americans mentioned Michelle Obama.

Her husband and former U.S. President, Barack Obama, was also named most admired man, with 19 percent of Americans mentioning his name. He's been the winner among men for 11 consecutive years with President Donald Trump coming in second for the fourth year in a row.

Hillary Clinton has taken to top spot 22 times, more than any man or woman, according to Gallup.
