President Obama may have withheld pertinent information regarding a highly publicized prisoner swap ahead of the nuclear accord with Iran, according to an investigation by the website Politico.
The Obama administration released seven prisoners described as non-dangerous businessman. However, according to the Politico investigation, three of those men were deemed a "threat to national security by the President's own Justice Department."
The three were accused of illegally shipping components to Tehran for use in surface-to-air missiles.
Politico also claims it discovered criminal cases were dropped against 14 fugitives including one who was accused of acquiring thousands of parts for Iran with potential nuclear applications and sending them through China.
