TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tuesday night, two Florida leaders are facing off in Tallahassee.
Tallahassee mayor Andrew Gillum and house speaker Richard Corcoran are squaring off in a debate on immigration. This debate was sparked by Corcoran's TV ad promising "Florida will never be a sanctuary state" under his watch.
Gillum called the ad race-baiting.
The Democratic mayor is running for governor, and although Corcoran hasn't announced anything yet, it's widely speculated that he'll run on the Republican ticket.
Our WTXL political contributors say while this debate is focused on immigration, it's also very much about name recognition on both sides.
The debate starts 8 p.m. You can watch a live stream here.
