ORLANDO, Fla. -- Police say a woman stole a 9-week-old Yorkshire terrier from an Orlando pet shop, left it in a trash bin behind the store and then called to say she was sorry.

Orlando police arrested 25-year-old Carolina Mejia Urbina on a grand theft charge Thursday.

She's accused of taking the puppy worth $1,300 from The Puppy Stop on Wednesday.

Store owner Victoria Glatz tells the Orlando Sentinel a woman called the store Wednesday night, saying she had stolen the dog and left it in a cloth bag.

Glatz says she texted Urbina on Thursday and convinced her to meet at a nearby cafe. Orlando police were waiting there and arrested Urbina.

Urbina was taken to jail. It's unclear whether she's hired a lawyer.

Glatz says the puppy is doing well.
