CHEVIOT, OH (FOX 19) - A Cheviot woman died while sunbathing after an SUV ran her over Thursday, police say.

Cheviot police say officers were called to 3414 Glenmore Avenue for a report of a crash with entrapment.

A good Samaritan waved police over and said he and some other men were outside when they heard someone screaming.

They noticed a SUV on top of a woman and lifted it off of her just before police arrived.

Police say the woman was sunbathing in a parking lot. The driver of a Jeep Cherokee told officers she could not see the woman lying on the ground and accidentally ran her over.

Cheviot and Green Township emergency crews attempted to save her, but the woman later died from her injuries at University of Cincinnati Hospital.

The victim has been identified as Tonya Robinson, 45, by the Hamilton County Coroner.

"She should have never been driving that vehicle. If she wasn't driving, then she would still be here," said Kevin Beckett, who shares children with Robinson.

Her family said very little information has been released, but shared what they said police told them.

"She was pulling into a shared driveway. She was distracted from an unrestrained 3-year-old. Ran over her, proceeded to drive to the parking spot. Heard the neighbor yelling. Got out and helped the neighbor pull her out. I was told she got her child and went inside and waited for the police," Beckett said.

Robinson was the mother of five and grandmother to three. She found out some fantastic news from her daughter Miranda Mitchell just a few days ago.

"I'm about to have my first baby," Mitchell said. "I am her first born and my mom was so excited. She is not going to be here to see my baby. She just found out three days ago."

The family said Robinson only recently moved to Ohio. They said she had some problems, but turned the corner and turned her life around.

Beckett said he holds no ill-will towards the driver, but he felt she should not have been driving.

There are no criminal charges against the 31-year-old driver at this time.
