Tallahassee, FL (WTXL) -- Police arrest woman of fraud and identity theft of over 20 people after she is pushed off second story balcony, according to reports.
Officers say they received a call about a woman being pushed off of the second story balcony of the Super 8 Motel on North Monroe Street. Police were also informed that the people involved were leaving the motel in a red vehicle with a Texas plate.
As police were arriving to the area, the report shows the car was spotted driving away. An officer tried to stop the vehicle but the suspects quickly drove off. Police say they chased the car until it was lost from sight.
About an hour later, the red car was pulled over on Monroe Street near Park Avenue.
Officers identified the driver as Alfred McDowell and Tameka Bellamy as the passenger.
A search of the vehicle found a box of blank checks and multiple credit cards, according to the incident report.
Police also say that marijuana and cocaine were found in Bellamy's purse along with a Super 8 Motel key in her wallet.
McDowell was arrested for four outstanding arrest warrants.
Bellamy was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital for injuries from the fall. She was also arrested for two current warrants.
The car was a rental vehicle from Hertz, which after contacting Hertz, police discovered was not rented by either McDowell or Bellamy.
The report states that the motel room was rented by Bellamy who refused consent for police to search.
After further investigation, police confirmed the checks had been stolen from Tallahassee residential mailboxes.
The incident report shows that after police received a search warrant for the motel, they found personal checks, credit cards, money orders, personal identification and cashier's checks.
Bellamy was later arrested for fraud and use of ID of over 20 people with out consent.
Police say that it is common for fraudulent check cashing rings to use hotel rooms and rental vehicles to protect their own identities.
