TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - In preparation for the upcoming Florida State and Florida A&M universities' home games, police are reminding football fans of traffic pattern changes around the Doak Campbell Stadium.

The Tallahassee and Florida State Police Departments said the city is hosting both FSU and FAMU's home games this coming weekend and have warned fans to expect heavy traffic. They also told fans to arrive early and plan for delays.

They said that traffic would be especially heavy in the South Monroe Street, Lake Bradford Road, and Orange Avenue areas.

Police have also said that they will be changing the traffic signals along West Pensacola Street to "flash" pre-game to give priority to westbound traffic along the road toward Doak Campbell Stadium.

TPD will also be on post 2 hours before the game and will take control of the lights and intersections once all personnel are where they need to be.

Once the FSU game finishes, police said all lanes on West Pensacola Street and St. Augustine Street will flow one-way, away from the stadium. St. Augustine Street will also switch to flashing as well.

More traffic instructions from police regarding booster lots and flow of traffic are below:

TRAFFIC INSTRUCTIONS: Fans are encouraged to use the following roadways to gain access to parking on and around FSU’s campus.

• From the north, use Stadium Drive or Macomb Street to Pensacola Street.

• From the east, use Pensacola or Gaines streets.
