Police Say 15-Year-Old Girl Shot, Killed in Apopka

APOPKA, Fla. (AP) — Police say a 15-year-old girl has been shot and killed in central Florida.

Local media outlets report police say Destiny Bargman died of her injuries after the shooting took place Saturday afternoon.

Officer Andrew Parkinson says several people called Apopka police to report a shooting around 12:45 p.m.

Sgt. Ian Berkman says a 16-year-old has been arrested in connection with the shooting and charged with second-degree murder. His identity has not been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
