TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Quincy man has been arrested after stealing his roommate's debit and credit card to pay for food and his court fees.

David Ruffin Jr., 23, was arrested by the Tallahassee Police Department on Sunday.

On Sept. 6, the victim made an online report with TPD. Documents say the victim told officers that not even a week after moving into his new apartment with Ruffin Jr., he had charges on both his debit and credit card after leaving his wallet in the living room.

He said it wasn't until later that he realized that Ruffin Jr. was actually his brother's old roommate and noticed the same thing happened to his brother and his roommates.

When officers were supplied with the charges made to the victim's debit and credit cards, it showed that Ruffin Jr. had used the cards for food and to pay his court fees with the Leon County Clerk's Office.

Based on the evidence, Ruffin Jr. is facing multiple charges that include criminal use of personal identification information and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Officers said that Ruffin Jr. is also a suspect in multiple other cases involving credit card fraud, including a case involving the victim's brother.

He was taken to the Leon County Detention Facility and his bond has been set at $19,000.
