NORTH PORT, FL (WWSB) - North Port Police Department arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly breaking into a home, punching police officers and a police K-9.
According to the North Port Police Department, one of the victims woke up his wife as they heard banging against the house with a shovel. The woman saw her lanai had been ransacked and a glass table overturned.
Police say two children were present in the house, but remained asleep during the incident.
Police say when they arrived, they saw a naked man fleeing from the property to the back of the yard.
According to police, the naked man was identified as Viktor Revega. Police used their K-9 officer to track and apprehend Revega. The officers told Revega to "roll over" and "lay on your stomach" but Revega allegedly refused.
According to the police report, Revega tried to punch K-9 officer Dutch, but an officer was able to handcuff him finally. Revega continued to kick the police officer several times.
The police report states Revega was under the influence of a drug, but didn't say what kind.
Revega was arrested for unarmed burglary of an occupied dwelling, criminal mischief through property damage over $1,000, resisting an officer with violence and battery on an officer.
