NORCROSS, Ga. (AP) - Gwinnett County police say a 61-year-old woman and her 29-year-old son found dead inside their Norcross apartment were the victims of torture.

Police say in a news release Wednesday that Nicola and James Sramek were both stabbed and suffered blunt force trauma.

Gwinnett police Cpl. Collin Flynn said Monday that police went to the Chelsea Park Lane apartment on Sunday around 10 p.m. after a concerned family called police, unable to make contact with the Srameks.

Flynn says officers found the pair dead inside.

Police say that they are working with several law enforcement agencies inside the state of Georgia and outside of the state to determine a motive and identify any potential suspects.
