MIAMI (AP) — An assistant minister is dead following a shooting outside a convenience store in Miami's Liberty City neighborhood.

Police say 67-year-old Ken Johnson was walking from the church to the store to get bottled water on Thursday when he was approached by two people. Johnson was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital's trauma center, where he died a short time later.

Johnson was pastor at Power Faith and Deliverance Ministries. Rev. Vincent Spann says the church plans a vigil at 6 p.m. Friday, walking from the church to the spot where Johnson was killed.

The Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/1mGBXCi ) reports detectives were questioning two suspects. An investigation continues.
