TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A man has been arrested for threatening to bring a gun inside Play Sports Bar after getting thrown out of the bar for fighting.

Gerald Rhymes, 23, was arrested by the Tallahassee Police Department on Sunday.

On Nov. 4, at about 2:14 a.m., officers were made aware of a physical disturbance at Play Sports Bar on West Pensacola Street.

Witnesses told officers that Rhymes had been kicked out of the business due to a fight and was possibly going to his car to get a gun.

Officers were able to make contact with Rhymes before he reentered the business and saw him holding a black handgun in his hand.

Officers immediately told Rhymes to get on the ground, put his hands out to the side, and to not move.

When talking with officers, Rhymes said he was just holding the gun in his hand down by his side and he believed he did not commit a crime.

Rhymes was eventually taken into custody and transported to the Leon County Detention Facility.

He is being charged with disorderly conduct, improper exhibition of a firearm, and license- registration carry conceal firearm in specific locations.

His bond was set at $1,500 but he has since bonded out.
