DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) — An Alabama man has been charged after authorities say he threatened to kill officers following a police chase.
Dothan police told local media outlets that 34-year-old Dawann Harris of Hurtsboro was arrested Friday and faces charges including making a terrorist threat and attempted first-degree assault.
A police statement says officers began following Harris after seeing his vehicle traveling erratically. It says the pursuit ended when the suspect's vehicle rammed into a vehicle driven by an off-duty officer. No one was hurt.
Dothan Police Lt. Will Glover says Harris is accused of threatening to kill police officers after he got out of his vehicle while being taken into custody by authorities.
It isn't clear if Harris has an attorney to comment on the charges.
