TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -  A Tallahassee man was arrested after stealing a Tallahassee Democrat newspaper delivery car and illegally possessing a gun.

Hanna Howard, 20, was arrested by the Tallahassee Police Department on Thursday.

At about 4:00 a.m. Thursday, TPD responded to a call regarding the theft of a car from a newspaper delivery employee on East Park Avenue.

TPD says the victim, who works for the Tallahassee Democrat, was delivering newspapers and left his car running while he stepped out for a moment.

That's when Hanna got inside and drove off with the car, but it stopped since the key fob was not nearby, so Hanna left it in the middle of Park Avenue.

It was picked up by the victim, who drove to Tallahassee Democrat on North Magnolia Street, where he then called TPD.

The victim also told officers his cellphone was missing from the car.

TPD states due to information provided by the victim, officers were able to find Hanna walking near Park Avenue and Blair Stone Road.

After an on-scene investigation, officers found a pistol wrapped in a ski-mask where Hanna had been standing.

Based on the evidence, probable cause was developed to arrest Hanna and charge him with grand theft of a motor vehicle, carrying a concealed weapon without a license, and petit theft.

He was taken to the Leon County Detention Facility and his bond has been set at $5,000.
