VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Two people were arrested in Valdosta after they lured a victim into a hotel room, hit him in the face with a gun, then robbed him at gunpoint. 

Antonio Young, 37, and Heather Weldon, 24, was arrested by the Valdosta Police Department on Monday. 

On Monday, at about 12:57 a.m., Valdosta Police Officers were called to a local motel in the 2100 block of West Hill Avenue. 

VPD said Lowndes County E-911 received an emergency call for service after the victim called 911 reporting a robbery. 

Officers responded to scene and made contact with the victim, who stated that while at a local hotel room, the suspects assaulted and robbed him.

According to VPD, the victim had a serious visible injury to his face. 

Through the investigation, VPD learned that Young and Weldon knew the victim and lured him to a hotel room where he was attacked.

The victim was then hit in the face with a gun and then robbed at gunpoint.  

Young and Weldon were taken to the Lowndes County Jail.  

Weldon is being charged with felony armed robbery. 

Young is being charged with felony armed robbery, felony possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, felony aggravated battery, and felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
