LANTANA, Fla. (AP) - A southbound train fatally struck a man who police say was walking along the railroad tracks near West Palm Beach.
Lantana police Chief Sean Scheller says the train operator told them the man appeared to be talking on the cellphone and didn't make an attempt to get off the tracks Monday morning.
Media outlets are reporting that traffic in the area is moving again after nearby roads were closed just after the crash.
Police are continuing to investigate. The man's name hasn't been released.
