OCALA, Fla. (AP) — It's probably not the best way to get a job.
Ocala police officers say that shortly after filling out a job application at an Ocala Citgo gas station on Tuesday, 33-year-old Anthony D. Thomas took $130 in cash from a drawer and walked out the door.
The Ocala Star Banner reports officers got a description of the suspect, who apparently was a frequent visitor to the store. Officers tracked him down, but Thomas fought them off. Three officers finally captured Thomas, who was arrested.
Police say Thomas still had the cash on him.
Thomas is charged with burglary, petit theft and resisting an officer with violence. He remained in the Marion County Jail on Wednesday morning.
Thomas told the Star-Banner he "didn't rob no store."
