TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -  The search is on for a suspect that crashed into a home while trying to get away from Tallahassee Police.

The Tallahassee Police Department said that on Friday afternoon, around 2:45 p.m. a patrol officer tried to stop a car in the area of Kissimmee Street and Mills Street for a possible drug violation.

They say that the car began immediately to speed away. Out of caution, the patrol officer did not chase after the car.

TPD said that the car continued on Kissimmee Street where it lost control and crashed into the home at 546 Kissimmee Street.

The passengers and driver of the car then got out and ran away. Police say that they have not been found.

No one inside the home was hurt due to the crash, but police say the family has been displaced as the foundation of the home was compromised and city workers have shut off all utilities to the home.

TPD officers are continuing to search for the suspects in the crash and are asking anyone with information about this case to please call them at (850) 891-4200.
