ATLANTA, GA. (AP) — Police are looking for a suspect after a teenager was shot to death in northwest Atlanta after purchasing Powerball tickets for his mother.
WXIA-TV reported Saturday that the Atlanta Police Department is offering a $2,000 reward to find the killer of 19-year-old Deonta Evans. He was shot multiple times Wednesday while riding his bicycle home from a store where he had just bought Powerball lottery tickets for his mother.
The shooting took place about a block away from his home in front of J.E. Brown Middle School.
There was no initial indication from police that the killing was tied to the lottery tickets.
