VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) - The Valdosta Police Department says there were three shootings in the city over the weekend.

The first happened on Saturday around 8:15 p.m. near Way Street, according to police.

The victim told police that she and several friends were sitting on their front porch when they thought they heard firecrackers.

When they re-entered home, they saw bullet holes in the front window and wall, says police. No injuries were reported.

Police say any other witnesses left the scene before they arrived.

Later that night, a woman called police around 10:40 p.m. saying she saw a dark colored vehicle fire several rounds from a handgun near her mailbox.

While she was unsure the direction the shots were being fired, police say they found a vehicle in the area that had been struck.

Police interviewed the owner of the vehicle and were given information from them on who they believed the shooter to be. Police say there is a possibility that this was related to a domestic dispute.

This case is under investigation and police say they have identified the person of interest.

The third shooting took place on Sunday around 5:30 p.m. according to police.

A woman told police her rental car was shot at on the 1000 Block of Smith Street.

Police say the woman heard a loud noise and saw a brown SUV driving behind her.

She left the area and later saw damage to her vehicle, causing her to call police. They say she believes the shots came from the SUV.

At this time, we do not know if any of these incidents are connected.

Police are asking anyone with information about these incidents to call the crime tip line 229-293-3091 or 229-293-3145.
