TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man is behind bars after police caught him in the middle of drug deal inside his car.
According to court documents, on Monday officers were patrolling the area of Country Club Drive and Sebring Court when they noticed the smell of burnt cannabis coming from a parked Honda Accent.
Officers approached the Honda and asked the two men to exit the vehicle.
Police say the driver, Quadrice Johnson, 23, got out the car holding $36 in his hand. Documents say investigators asked the men why were they sitting in the car and Johnson stated they were "potlicking," which is slang for hanging and talking.
Johnson also told police that he and the other man were smoking weed.
Documents say officers then searched the vehicle and found two small bags of cannabis, one bag of cocaine, and a box of plastic bags.
After searching the vehicle police arrested both men.
Johnson told police he bought weed for him and the other man to smoke. He also admitted the cocaine belonged to him as he "occasionally uses it but does not make it a habit."
Later, officers spoke to the man who was with Johnson. He told them he was in the process of buying cannabis from Johnson when officers approached the vehicle. He also told police that he and Johnson were smoking the cannabis that he had just purchased.
After investigating, the man was given a notice to appear and released on scene. According to documents, Johnson was taken to the Leon County Detention Facility on charges of cocaine possession and marijuana possession with intent to sell.
