ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Police say an Uber driver accused sexually assaulting a woman after giving her a ride home in northeast Georgia has been arrested.
Athens-Clarke County police told multiple news media Friday that 49-year-old John Kemens was arrested in the December incident involving a 27-year-old woman. Kemens was arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated sodomy with force and first degree burglary.
Police say Kemens picked up the woman from an Athens restaurant and gave her a ride home. Police say he later burglarized her home and sexually assaulted the woman.
Police say they tracked down Kemens with the help of the victim and Uber, the ride-sharing service.
