CONYERS, Ga. (AP) - Investigators say a Georgia man who fatally shot two people inside a liquor store and wounded his parents killed himself after exchanging gunfire with a sheriff's deputy.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said in a news release Friday that an autopsy done on the body of 36-year-old Jeffrey Pitts shows he died by "contact range gunshot wound of head."
Authorities have said Pitts fatally shot a customer and a clerk at a liquor store in Conyers on Sunday in what may have been a dispute over an unpaid bill.
Authorities have said Pitts then went home and shot his parents. When a deputy arrived, Pitts shot at him and the two exchanged gunfire.
Authorities have said Pitts' parents were in stable condition.
