TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man was arrested after police found over 500 grams of weed and over $13,000 in cash inside his car while doing patrol in a local neighborhood.

Christopher Young, 24, was arrested by the Tallahassee Police Department on Tuesday.

On Tuesday at about 7:00 p.m., officers were conducting proactive patrol at the Cottages of Magnolia on Magnolia Circle in response to resident complaints and in an attempt to deter criminal activity.

While on patrol, officers noticed a vehicle with several occupants.

While talking with the occupants of the vehicle, officers became aware of drug activity inside the vehicle and developed probable cause to do a search of the vehicle.

After an extensive on-scene investigation, officers confiscated over 500 grams of cannabis, a loaded 9mm handgun, and over $13,000 in cash.

Based on the investigation, Young, the driver of the vehicle, was taken into custody and transported to the Leon County Detention Facility.

He is being charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and carrying a concealed firearm while unlicensed.

He has since bonded out.
