MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) - Midway Police are investigating after they removed a potted pot plant from a Midway homeowner's backyard.
Midway Police say they responded to a home on Silver Hill Road on Wednesday after being called about a suspicious plant. When they arrived, officers spoke to the homeowner who told officers to go check outside.
While outside, Midway Police Lieutenant Kristi Cobb discovered a plant she determined to be illegal in nature.
Police say the homeowner claimed that an unknown man had been growing it in her back yard and she wanted it removed.
Lt. Cobb, assisted by the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office, took the potted plant from the home and placed it into the evidence locker at the sheriff's office.
Midway Police have not been able to identify a suspect in the case.
