MOULTRIE, Ga. (WTXL) -- One of the longest running Broadway shows is now coming to a local stage.
The Colquitt County High School Choral Department is putting on Phantom of the Opera.
It takes quite a cast to put on this show, but these students are up to the task. More than 100 people are involved, including 70 cast members.
Andrew Lloyd Webber's stage show Phantom of the Opera is based on the French novel. It tells the story a beautiful soprano, Christine, who becomes the obsession of the phantom: a mysterious, disfigured musical genius who's taken up residence in the opera house.
Those involved in the high school production say, "Phantom has what's considered one of the most difficult musical scores of Broadway musicals. Within Phantom are operatic scenes presented as the opera house company try to continue their performances in spite of the phantom's interference."
Phantom of the Opera runs February 18 through February 21 at Withers Auditorium (1800 park Ave. SE in Moultrie).
Tickets are $10.
