JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL)--A Jackson County man, fast asleep in his home, is tied up and assaulted by two people trying to rob him.

That's what investigators say happened to 63-year-old Mike Murphy July 4 around midnight on Fleetwood Lane.

Jackson County deputies say he was hit on the back of the head, his fingers stomped, and his hands zip-tied together.

The pair ran away without any money. Murphy was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries. During the investigation, K-9 tracking teams from nearby prisons came out to help during the search.

Right now, investigators want to talk to two persons of interest. They describe them as two black men. One has an afro. The other has short dreadlocks and is possibly driving a newer model gold Toyota Camry.

If you have information, call the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.
