TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - People across the world are encouraging others to stop smoking for World No Tobacco Day.
WTXL's Jada Williams is live in Tallahassee with ways that Leon County can help you kick your habit.
Thursday is definitely about helping others stop smoking, but people at the Florida Department of Health's Tobacco Free Florida work to do that every day.
The theme for this year is tobacco and heart disease.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S. According to the World Health Organization, tobacco use and secondhand smoke exposure contribute to approximately 12 percent of all heart disease deaths.
That's where Tobacco Free Florida comes in. Here's their link: tobaccofreeflorida.com.
